| If you want to experience excellent big game
hunting and fishing at its finest in some of the most remote and beautiful
areas in the Alberta and Saskatchewan wilderness, this is the location
for you. Our specialty is trophy hunts for moose, bear and wolf with professional
guides. Alstead Lake is a remote lake that is long, narrow and sheltered,
set in a picturesque setting with a bountiful supply of northern pike
and walleye and an abundance of wildlife in the surrounding area. We also
welcome photographers who will find this is an ideal location for exquisite
photo opportunities.

Moose Hunts in Northern Alberta and Saskatchewan
| Since we are in remote areas of northern Alberta and Saskatchewan where
access is limited to either float plane or argo, (swamp ATV,) hunting
pressure is minimal. This area consists of low willow flats, rivers and
several small lakes which is prime moose habitat. From your wilderness
camp each day your guide will take you to the waters edge where he will
call to the rutting bulls. Once a bull responds to the guide's call and
starts to come you will experience a thrill of a lifetime as these bulls
can be unpredictable as they approach, these bulls are either looking
for a mate or are defending their cows from other bulls. To allow for
a higher rate of success and more personal attention, we have one guide
for two hunters. Comfortable accommodations for the hunters will be in
a large tent at one of the several remote lakes in the surrounding area.

In Alberta during moose hunts, hunters can purchase a wolf licence and possibly
try for one of these fine trophies as well.
Spring Bear Hunts:

Lake Hunts
In the spring bears are hunted from trees stands located near the edge
of Alstead Lake or rivers, looking over baited sites, this has been a
very successful method of hunting for many years. We can accommodate hunters
who prefer not to climb into tree stands. We are setup to meet the needs
of bow hunters as well as rifle hunters. Hunters will be quite comfortable
in the cabin nestled on the edge of Alstead Lake. Once a hunter has had
a successful bear hunt he may chose to relax and try his hand at the excellent
fishing opportunity for northern pike or walleye. |

River Hunts
In the spring, bears often follow along the shores of the rivers feeding on
the new growth and numerous other sources of food such as frogs, freshly laid
duck or goose eggs, etc. We fly the hunters, guide and canoe with all their
supplies up to near the start of a river where they embark on a 7-10 day trip
drifting down the river looking for bear, this has proven to be a very successful
method of hunting bear. Dome tents are carried and setup each evening for
accommodations. This is a wilderness trip everyone should make at least once
in their life, you will definitely want to come back.
Whitetail Deer Hunts
Unfortunately in the spring of 1998 a forest fire went through the southern
portion of our Whitetail deer hunting area, therefore we have decided not
to take any bookings for 2000-2001. We will evaluate the situation after the
2001 fall deer season and at that time determine whether we will take bookings
for the northern portion.
Guiding for Hunts
Guiding for hunts is provided by Ken Baker who has over 25 years experience
hunting moose, bear and deer with bow & arrow, and has an excellent success
rate guiding. The #2 World Record Canadian Moose (Pope & Young records) was
called within 7 steps of successful bow hunter Fred Gimble by Ken in 1994.

Fishing Trips for Walleye and Northern Pike on Alstead Lake
| Alstead lake provides some of the finest walleye
and northern pike fishing available in the area. The water is usually
quite calm compared to most of the larger lakes, due mainly to the lake
being long, narrow and very sheltered. Our fishing packages usually include
boats, motors, fuel, meals, filleting and guide. Come relax and enjoy
the excellent fishing and our comfortable cabins on the picturesque Alstead
Lake. |

Hunting & Fishing Packages
The hunting and fishing packages are a full six days, (travel in Sunday,
travel out the next Sunday,) except the river hunts for bear which take 7
to 10 days. All packages include guiding, meals, and return transportation
from Ile-a-la Crosse in Saskatchewan and from Athabasca in Alberta. Accommodations
are included at Alstead Lake in rustic cabins with wood heating & hot showers,
at remote locations for moose we provide large comfortable tents.
